BRIDG awarded $160 million grant for NSF Regional Innovation Engine

February 5, 2024, Kissimmee, FL – Last week, the Central Florida Regional Semiconductor Coalition, led by NeoCity’s BRIDG and Osceola County, won the $160 million National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Regional Innovation Engine’s grant.

The award is one of the largest investments in place-based economic development in the nation’s history and represents the largest grants ever given by the NSF. It is also only the most recent major win secured by our coalition.

The announcement comes on the heels of Osceola County’s recent $289 million Department of Defense contract, the $50.8 million Department of Commerce Build Back Regional Challenge award, and a string of major state investments.

Combined, the amount of recent investment into NeoCity and the Orlando region’s semiconductor industry now totals more than half a billion dollars.

Thank you and congratulations to regional coalition partners including Osceola County, BRIDG (FPC member), the University of Central Florida, Valencia College (FPC member), the Florida High Tech Corridor (FPC member), imec USA, CareerSource Central Florida, Orlando Economic Partnership (FPC member), and the University of Florida.
