I am honored to serve as President of the Florida Photonics (FP). Our state fosters an incredible community of Optics and Photonics companies, which has become a force to reckon with on the global stage.

I am excited to see where we go next as we leverage the power of FP to empower our Optics and Photonics ecosystem. By continuing to promote, connect, and facilitate cooperation among businesses, academia, and government entities, we will unlock even greater potential for all of us.

As we continue to move forward, the Optics and Photonics Community will continue to play a vital role in the future growth of Florida. It will be crucial for creating sustainable economic development for years to come. FP will help drive this development by advocating for the Optics and Photonics community to ensure our collective industries thrives. We will support the Optics and Photonics Community leverage Florida’s Higher Education system to continue to revitalize the industry with new talent. Work with our state and national representatives to provide support and stimulus to enable innovation in the industry. Work with companies to communicate the needs of the industry. Finally, we will tell the world that Florida is the right place for the Optics and Photonics industry to Work, Live, and Thrive.

Through our community’s ability to innovate, train, research, and translate solutions into high-tech manufacturing, the Florida Optics and Photonics community continues to fuel the Florida economy. The Optics and Photonics community has led others to see that our state is not only a place to vacation but as a leading high–tech hub.

I look forward to what is ahead for Florida Optics and Photonics companies. FP and each of its members will play a pivotal role in the success of our industry in Florida.
